The sport of Powered Paragliding has become one of the fastest growing aviation sports in North America... All with good reason too. Its fun, inexpensive compared to flying a regular airplane or ultra-light and it's easy to transport allowing you to fly around places most people only dream about!
When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return. ~Leonardo Da Vinci

I'm often asked why I still teach powered paragliding to new pilots...
the answer is simple...
It encompases two of my favorite things...
powered-paragliding and teaching...
My name is James Johnson and essentially I'm addicted to flying powered paragliders. My passion is teaching others how to fly with a giant fans on their back!
I fell in love with the idea of powered paragliding after 5 frustrating years of regular paragliding.
I admit I was never that good to stay in the thermals for long extended periods of time but loved floating around under a parachute.
When I saw that you can fly a paraglider with an engine I was hooked. Since then I have flown nothing but powered paragliders.
After logging 100's of hours of flights flying powered paragliders people started asking questions and wanted to learn to fly one as well.
The need to start the first and only Powered Paragliding Academy in BC Canada was born!
I now run the first full time Transport Canada Powered Paragliding School in BC Canada. It is for anyone who wants to learn how to fly a foot launch, trike or 4 wheel quad powered paraglider.
I teach mostly in the Okanagan Valley in BC where the weather and scenery are amazing.
I also have access to all the latest gear and equipment and also have a paramotor mechanic to inspect and fix all types of engines for students that find used gear on the internet.
The feeling you get exploring places you've always wanted to visit is exhilarating.
Not in a scary way but a peaceful freedom to fly low and slow unlike any other aircraft.
I sure hope you realize sooner than later life is too short not to try this amazing sport!
It's really AWESOME!
